Dr. Amr Mahdy earned his Bachelor's degree in Law in 2001 ranking 21st among the 7,000 graduates. He was given a certificate of appreciation in 2000 from the same university for excellence in civil and commercial proceedings law. He obtained his master's degree in criminal law in 2003 ranking 3rd out of 100 students and another master's degree in procedural law in 2007 ranking 5th out of 300 students. He earned a doctorate in civil law and intellectual property in 2010 obtaining the highest honors given by Egyptian universities.

In 2007 Dr. Amr Mahdy engaged to study the principles established by the Supreme Administrative Court of the Republic of Egypt Arabic since its inception in 1950 until 2007, he drafted articles and legal research on various issues, including his research in the field of Language errors in the legal literature.

While preparing his PhD thesis, Dr. Amr Mahdy was mentored by Dr Mohamed Labib Shanab, one of the most brilliant and most known civil law scholars in the Middle East due to his important contribution in the field. Dr. Shanab is a student of Dr. Abdul Razak Al-Sanhory, who also mentored the doctoral thesis of Dr. Mohammed Mohammed Abu Zeid, one of the greatest civil law theorists in Arab Republic of Egypt. Dr. Amr completed his thesis with flying colors, the Committee emphasized that the content of this thesis is a new addition to the civil law;they also commended his expertise in writing legal articles using the correct legal terms, attributing this to his knowledge of the Arabic Grammar rules and literature.

After graduation, Dr. Amr Mahdy worked for over 6 years in the legal field in the Arab Republic of Egypt conducting legal study of issues, writing legal memoranda, scholarly research, reviewing and drafting contracts and representing clients before the courts and arbitration bodies. He then relocated to the Kingdom of Bahrain and worked for over 6 years in the same field. He also worked as a professorin The Kingdom University, teaching the Science of Crime and Punishment.

He joined Almoayed Chambers in early 2012, bringing with him the wealth of experience he gained from past roles, his knowledge of the most important legal principles established by the courts of Cassation, adding to his knowledge of the laws of the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Arab Republic of Egypt. He is now heading the dispute resolution team handling multi-million legal claims both in Bahrain and cross-jurisdictional disputes.
